Model deprecation (retirement)
When a provider announces a model will stop working on a set date.
After the shutdown date, requests to that model fail. The provider names a replacement, but behaviour and price can differ, so it is worth testing before the date.
Why it matters. A retired model ID left in code can break a feature overnight.
