Counterparty Watch · Client and supplier monitoring

Know when a client or supplier changes for the worse

Upload your list of UK clients and suppliers once. Counterparty Watch checks Companies House every week and the UK Sanctions List every day, and emails you only when something changes: insolvency, strike-off, new owners, new directors, overdue accounts or a sanctions match.

Free: watch 2 companies. Book a call to watch your full list.

How it works

From set-up to the first alert

  1. 01

    Add your list

Paste company numbers or names, or upload a CSV from your finance or CRM system. Add your own reference to each if you like.

  2. 02

    First check

Each company's status, filings, directors and owners are read from Companies House and screened against the UK Sanctions List.

  3. 03

    Watching

The sanctions list is checked every day and Companies House every week, without you doing anything.

  4. 04

    One email when it matters

A single digest listing what changed and where, most serious first. Silence means nothing changed.

What you get

Built for the job, nothing extra

Early warning

Hear about trouble before the invoice bounces

Administration, liquidation, a strike-off notice or accounts going overdue are often the first public signs a customer won't pay or a supplier won't deliver.

  • Status changes: administration, liquidation, dissolution
  • Gazette proposals to strike off
  • Overdue accounts and confirmation statements
Ownership and control

Notice when the people behind a company change

New owners, directors appointed or resigning, a name change or a registered office moving to a formation agent can all change the risk of doing business.

  • People with significant control added or removed
  • Directors appointed and resigned
  • Name and registered office changes
Sanctions

The company, its directors and its owners, screened daily

Every name is checked against the UK Sanctions List each day, so a designation made after you onboarded a customer is still caught. Matches are labelled strong or possible, with the reason.

  • Company, directors and owners screened
  • Birth year used to rule out namesakes
  • New designations caught the next morning

Who it's for

Made for the people who get the blame

“You find out a customer is in administration when the payment doesn't arrive.”

  • Early warning on your biggest debtors
  • One weekly view of your ledger's risk
  • Evidence for credit decisions

Security and data

Careful by default

Public data onlyEverything comes from the Companies House public register and the UK Sanctions List. We never need access to your systems.
Your list stays yoursYour watch list and references are visible only to your account, stored in the EU and served from London. Download it as CSV any time.
A screening aid, not a verdictSanctions results are name matches to help you prioritise. You decide what a match means, and it doesn't replace your own screening obligations.

FAQ

About Counterparty Watch

Which companies can I watch?

Any company, LLP or other entity registered at Companies House in England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. Sole traders, partnerships and overseas companies aren't on the register, so they can't be watched yet.

How often is it checked?

The UK Sanctions List every day, and each company's Companies House record every week. You can also check any company again on demand.

Does it cover winding-up petitions?

Not yet. It covers company status (administration, liquidation and so on), insolvency history and strike-off notices as recorded at Companies House. Winding-up petitions published only in The Gazette are on the roadmap.

Is this enough for my AML obligations?

It helps with ongoing monitoring, but it isn't a complete screening system and isn't legal advice. Firms with sanctions or AML duties should keep their own screening and decide what each match means.

What does it cost?

You can watch 2 companies free, with every check and alert included. To watch your full client and supplier list, book a 30-minute call and we'll set it up for you.
